NEW ITEM! This is an authentic reproduction of the USAAF Type A-10 Intermediate Leather Glove! Standardized in 1938, it was worn & loved by AAF pilots and aircrews throughout WWII. Attractive and practical, these gloves are made from soft & supple goatskin leather and feature an inner glove lining, knitted wristlets, leather "pull tabs" attached to the knitted cuffs (which allows you to pull on the gloves without stretching or tearing the knitted wristlet), and a USAAF insignia "stenciled" onto the back of each glove. Excellent for flying (especially open cockpit flying), driving or general wear and looks great when worn with your favorite "bomber" jacket! In this classic, long running 1980s series, Tom Selleck played private investigator Thomas Magnum - a decorated former naval officer & Navy SEAL, Vietnam vet, and Ferrari-driving ladies man (our kind of private eye!). The shirt is a bright & colorful print, featuring tropical foliage and parrots (the original Magnum P.I. Jungle Bird aloha shirt, along with a Detroit Tigers baseball cap and other mementos from the Magnum P.I. show, were presented to the Smithsonian Institution's Museum of American History by Tom Selleck). It's constructed from cool & comfortable 100% cotton and features bamboo wood buttons and a matching left chest pocket. Looks great by itself, or couple it with Magnum's VMO2 cap. Quality + Value: Our US Wings Current Issue A-2 is based on the latest USAF A-2 pattern (which is an update of the "second generation" A-2s issued in 1987). Although it features a number of functional & comfort upgrades, this jacket is still unmistakably an A-2, a classic jacket originally adopted by the USAAF back in 1931.
The current issue pattern includes side-entry handwarmer pockets (the first military-issue A-2 to include this as a standard feature), two inside wallet pockets, an interior double slotted pen/pencil pocket, and side panels for a more comfortable fit. Other features include a premium dark brown goatskin shell, two front snap-flapped cargo pockets, a snap-down collar (which secures the collar against prop or jet wash — or just a strong wind), an exterior windflap that conceals the solid antiqued brass zipper beneath it, a one piece back, knit cuffs & waistband, shoulder epaulets, and a poly-twill lining.
