Official Centennial of Naval Aviation G-1!  When the US Navy wanted a jacket to commemorate the 100th anniversary of naval aviation, they came to US Wings! We are the exclusive manufacturer of the officially licensed Centennial of Naval Aviation G-1, celebrating 100 years of naval flight from 1911-2011. This military-style G-1 jacket features embroidered naval aviator wings above a silkscreened rendering of the official Naval Aviation Centennial logo (and the superimposed Navy Flyer's Creed) on a silky golden-hued satin nylon lining. The jacket is based on the WWII pattern and is made from the finest mil-spec goatskin available, resulting in a durable military-worthy garment that's also extremely soft & supple. Other features include a mouton fur collar, two front cargo pockets with a hidden pen slot under the left pocket's flap (note: this jacket does not have side-entry handwarmer pockets), bi-swing back for freedom of movement, knit cuffs & waistband, an interior pocket, inside windflap with "USN" perforation, and a heavy duty antiqued brass zipper. This classic G-1 jacket has been recreated in beautiful hand-aged antique cowhide! The leather's subtle color variations, variety of graining and naturally occurring attributes add character to this jacket, giving it the look of an authentic vintage garment. The hides are hand-picked, hand-assembled & hand-aged, so no two jackets will look exactly alike. This high quality jacket is made from genuine leather and features our exclusive golden "Wings of Gold" nylon lining (with silkscreened naval aviator wings and the Navy Flyer's Creed). Other features include two front snap-flapped cargo pockets, an inside pocket, faux fur collar, antiqued brass zipper, and knit cuffs & waistband. This is a tough & rugged jacket that's built to withstand hard wearing! Sgt. David Hack (CEO of US Wings) and Robert Kruty (US Wings VP of Sales & Military Contracts) met with Admiral Michael Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in a 30-minute private meeting held in Cleveland OH on August 27, 2010. During the meeting, Admiral Mullen was presented with a "Wings of Gold" jacket lining for framing. The US Wings "Wings of Gold" lining is found in the US Navy's official Centennial of Naval Aviation G-1 as well as in our entire Wings of Gold jacket line. View photos from the meeting.
